About

  • The Problem:

1-Trac came about last year as I decided to get back into model trains.

I did not have room for a permanent layout.

I wanted to make a small layout that ran on a shelf in my bookshelf but nothing like that existed.

I did not know anything about new track system and features.

I had very limited experience with scenery and painting.

  • The Solution:

I created a system for myself where the model railroad can go to any room in the house.

Instead of crawling underneath a layout to install wiring, I can put it on a table and work on it easily.

Early on I made a module that I didn't like at all. It was easy to just remove everything and start over again.

A 400x400mm base module, Kato Unitrack and a Kato Pocket Line train and all supplies are very affordable. You can have your track installed, your scenery decorated and your train running around happily for under $200.
